The Downland Beano Venue

Wetherdown Hostel, on top of the South Downs and three miles south of the picturesque village of East Meon, has some of the best views in Hampshire. The hostel is part of The Sustainability Centre and has been refurbished using sustainable building materials. It has an integrated solar photovoltaic roof and a wood chip biomass boiler.

Accommodation is in single and twin rooms, all with wash basins. Bed linen, duvets and towels are provided. There are drying rooms and secure cycle storage. Showers and bathrooms are scattered about the hostel. We will have exclusive use of the hostel during our stay. The cook uses local organic produce whenever possible.

The Sustainability Centre runs various eco courses such as spinning, woodland management, straw bale building, and permaculture etc. On Saturday evening we will have a guided tour of the centre.
